Beginners Learn To Sew Class- Saturday 1st February 2025- 10am - 3pm
Have you always wanted to know how to sew? This is the class for you!
Perfect for people with little to no sewing experience, but who want to more fully understand how to use a sewing machine, to do basic stitches and understand a commercial sewing pattern (and much more)!
Our Beginner’s Learn to sew class is designed to demystify sewing, and get you excited to create!
Some of the skills covered in this class include:
- cutting out fabrics correctly
- basic stitches
- how to read a sewing pattern
- how to thread and troubleshoot a sewing machine
- hemming techniques and seam finishes
- basic hand-stitching
Our teacher Mouna Stone has been sewing for over 30 years, and still remembers the thrill of making her first garment. One of her favourite things is helping our customers get started on a project with confidence with correct tools and textiles for the job at hand and she is excited to be using this knowledge to teach you!
This stand-alone class will consist of a 5 hour session (with a 45 minute lunch break included). Saturday 1st Feburary 2025
This class is designed for adults (minimum 16 years of age) of all gender expressions to get you started on the right track using your own sewing machine so that you can continue sewing at home with confidence.
